I am new to the sport and I am looking for a good optic for my flat top AR. We normally have shots ranging from 100 to 400 yards. I tried a regular red dot but when the targets are that far out I have problems when they are small. Thanks

Another vote for Nikon. 1-4 Monarch dangerous game $279. Not illuminated but good value.

Cabelas has the Leupold 1.5-4 AR15 scope for $299. I put that in a Nikon P223 mount and run it on my 3 gun/coyote gun. I love it.

As far as I can tell the dangerous game only comes with the German crosshair reticle. If you are shooting out to 400 you will have to figure the bullet drop. I would probably go with something that has a BDC reticle. Not to say that it can't be done, as there are plenty of guys that are rocking the Trijicon with stellar results but some find it easier to use the hash marks.

With the reviews that the Burris has been getting I was be hard pressed to go that route.

I use the Leupold Mark 4 AR 1.5-4. Really great eye relief. Small and light.
