Better deal than paying 1800 for a slr- 101 on gunbroker. Its funny how arsenal keeps finding new rifles to sell.
How are these different from the slr 101 anyway ?

I asked this same question in another thread (SLR 101 vs SAM7R). From what I have learned, the SLR 101 has an imported milled receiver and the SAM7R has a US made receiver. Have you come up with any other differences?

Yeah no kidding. But it is a smart way to slowly sell inventory little by little to make sure items are available in the future. Heck earlier I just saw they have some more bulgy 5.45 krink kits on their website. Albeit they are listed just shy of $2k, they have em. Cant say I wouldn't do the same.

The SAM receiver is 80% made in Bulgaria, & finished in the USA. GARY

Anyone know of a distributor that has these? Besides KVAR? I want to buy one but they won't let me place an order because of my billing address. Even though its going to NV

No, just a CA id. It would be made CA compliant with bullet button and then sent to my local CA FFL. The SA M7R is CA ok with bullet button since it's not on the ban list. Unlike the SLR 101

Why do companies do this?

Can't Arsenal just state the differences. I've been wondering for a couple of days now what the difference is. It's not clear on K-var's website.

I posted this in another thread, but this one seems to have more traffic so I'll say it here too:

I own an SA M7r. It's the smoothest most accurate AK I have ever shot. In fact right now I'm looking to buy another one, but I need to find a vendor that has them in stock. Of the other AK's I shot: it was a Hungarian SA85 and an SGL, so not many. But the difference was noticeable. That said, I can't legally own an SLR since I live in CA.

From what I know: both are basically the same thing performance wise.

From a collector/value point of view: the SLR is more desirable because of the markings on the receiver. (Made in Bulgaria, etc) whereas the SA M7r has made in Las Vegas, NV stamped on the receiver

Its common knowledge, its been known for over a decade.

sometimes we ak people take for granted what is common knowledge. I will see what i can do about getting a more detailed description up.

I disagree. Maybe it is common knowledge for some people, but K-var's website clearly states that the gun is "Bulgarian-made." The description is vague. When I first read it, I thought the milling was done in Bulgaria by Arsenal along with the hammer forging process. But with the knowledge from this thread, I now read it to mean that the blanks are made in Bulgaria and then shipped here for milling.

I'm sure it's a fine gun. For that amount of money, however, I want to be sure.

So just for the sake of clarity: Is the recent SLR101 forged and milled in Bulgaria? And is the SAM7R receiver forged in Bulgaria and milled in the US?

Yes that sounds right, SLR is all Bulgaria, SA M7R is US

The 101 is built in Bulgaria, imported to the States, & US parts added for 922. The SAM is assembled in the States from the same Bulgarian parts, & again the required US 922 parts. The only difference is the SAM's receiver starts life in Bulgaria, & is finished here in the US. At this point in time I'd buy whichever was available, & affordable. GARY

Get your ffl in with your name and order number somewhere on it, make sure you don't have a daily spending limit on your credit card. Once this is done please wait patiently, you will get it as fast as we can.

While you're at it, it might be nice if your website accurately listed your current backlog time. It says 5-7 days. Try 18+ !

There are dealers who pay good money to advertise on here, so what makes you think you can do it for free

One would assume if you have been a member for this long you would know the forum rules.

I already have you listed in the Prices/Availability thread in our AK Pistol forum and that has brought you much publicity. Now that I see you doing this as a non-paying dealer making money on here for free I feel compelled to pull you off that list and turn this thread over to another mod.

He is simply answering questions. I have not seen him advertise here at all. It is not like he is starting availability threads and such.

As it stands now, this Site does allow for technical questions to be answered. Tech questions only.

I haven't seen anything in this thread that crosses the line into advertising. Some of the delivery times/etc are pushing close to the line. Please be sure not to post items/prices as that would be considered as advertising.

ETA: If you have questions about orders you have made, use the IM feature.

I just can't believe people would get the new SAM7R guns that just came out when I am still waiting on my SGL26 and have been told it would ship about two weeks ago when they verified my FFL info

If you think you have a case, then go ahead and take it upstairs.

Halflife is one of our Mods on the site, and was under the impression that your posts crossed the line into advertising.

This is more my fault for not making sure that all the Mods were aware of the owners rules governing companies and what they can/can't post here.

He was trying to look out for the site, and shouldn't be criticized for doing so.

No, just a CA id. It would be made CA compliant with bullet button and then sent to my local CA FFL. The SA M7R is CA ok with bullet button since it's not on the ban list. Unlike the SLR 101

KVAR already sells the SAM7R in a "Kalifornia-Kompliant" version. I ordered mine January 9th and my order is still "processing" (I've not hear anything yet).

Yeah I know they do. I'm just not a fan of the riveted mag lock. I travel out of state often, so I don't want a neutered gun when I'm in a free state. I was just going to have my FFL (outside CA) install a solar tactical bullet button on it and then just ship it here to CA. It's never been a problem with any of my AK's.
