This is how it is done!

Taken with my .458 SOCOM. Punched him in the lungs and he dropped within 5 yards of where I hit him.

Once help arrived I got a nice photo!

The only way to take it out, other than whole.

Groceries hangin' in the new shop. Looks like I finished the house just in time.

Deer tomorrow!

55" across, 54" along each main beam. 14" around the bases and 20" spread between the G4's and G5's. For a 5 point, I have no regrets.

80 yards, upper was built by Marty at Teppo Jutsu and I arranged to get the walnut laminated on the buffer-tube and forearm. 16" Pacnor barrel

Chris at Wild Cherry woodworks did the lamination on the walnut. I made the buffer tube cover myself.

Great job and thanks for posting this! I have been thinking about getting a .458 SOCOM upper and using it for big game, and you just helped me make up my mind. If you don't mind me asking, what did you pay for yours and where can I contact the guy that made it for you?

Marty @ Teppo Jutsu made the upper, I built the lower. The rifle is highly customized, and would cost in excess of $2,000 to reproduce. I have additional accessories that are not shown.

Lower is a POF 416 Gen 2 billet lower and a Timney match trigger assembly. Not going to find an Ace buffer tube cover in Walnut off the shelf, nor the carbon fiber fore-end laminated with walnut, so you'll need someone to do that. Upper receiver is a billet LaRue, and there are a few other goodies not seen.

It has taken 2 black bear and now an elk. Plenty of power for anything in North America. Just need to use the correct projectile for the job.
